3 updates and picture for you

1. Can’t get enough travel

I’m back with some updates after a somewhat unexpected hiatus. I got all kinds of spontaneous after a very fun CNMC in Atlanta last month. Shortly after that I took off to Alabama for a long weekend with my hubby. We hung around Mobile, which was a lot of fun. I wrote about it here. I think it could quickly become a favorite place to visit.

2. Can’t get enough of new friends

Then I zoomed off to Buffalo to speak at the Catholic Press Association’s Catholic Media Conference. Boy oh boy that was exciting. I ran into some old friends there, and made some new ones — and had cocktails with the delightful Tiffany from Life of a Catholic Librarian. I’ll be writing more about my experience there in the next few days.

3. Definitely can’t get enough of family

Finally, I took off for a week to spend time with my mom as we approach the anniversary of my dad’s passing. It was good to see family and friends. It was good to share meals, unwind, and love.

A little juice, a little joy

Find joy in the ordinary. Max Lucado

Stopped at a gas station for a pick-me-up. It’s hot. It’s going to be miserable outside today, and I thought I’d get some “cool” sunshine before my day starts. A little juice perked me up just right. Sweet, cool, and refreshing.

If only it could stay like that.

It lifted my mood, though, and that carries a lot more weight than the oppressive heat.

the ever hopeful Mr. Roy G. Biv

There’s a beautiful rainbow in my garden, and I hadn’t noticed it until this week’s photo challenge! Introducing Mr. Roy G. Biv, back yard edition.

I had fun with the challenge…mostly because I love rainbows. I always drew them as a kid, and even now, if I see a real one in the sky, I stop what I’m doing and enjoy it.

It’s so full of promise. (GN 9: 8-15)
