My Honey gave me beautiful yellow roses, my favorite, so I played around using the Dreamscope app.

I didn’t exactly take this picture. Exactly. But I framed it. Does that count? My life is imitating art.
I had the pleasure of going to the Vermeer exhibit at The High in Atlanta last year. The Girl with the Pearl Earring was the big draw, so they had this cut out in the lobby. I’m not sure this necessarily promotes seeing great pieces — but hey, it was there, why not pop in the picture?
The exhibit was lovely — as I appreciated Vermeer’s other works, as well, but this is what drew the crowds. Like the Mona Lisa, it was much smaller than I thought.
Also, it occurs to me that the model resembles the actress Laura Carmichael who plays Lady Edith Crawley from Downton Abbey. Follow the links and tell me it ain’t true!
I’m not generally a fan of schticks and schemes designed to collect money for charities. I figure — research it and give in the way you discern best. But my kiddo, pictured here in his Wolverine Halloween costume, is participating with St. Baldrick’s Foundation to conquer childhood cancers. He’s taking pledges to shave off his hair– and if he passes the $300 mark he’ll shave his beard. This will make him look 12 and he’ll be carded at the very bar where he’ll be participating in shave-off. Ha.
This is especially close to me as I’ve been praying for some time for a Real Life Superhero, SuperJuls, whose courage is an inspiration. Give or don’t give to my son’s efforts. We’ll be topping off the pledge card — but stop a moment after reading this and pray for Julian, his siblings, his parents, and all the families affected by this insidious disease that keeps taking so many precious children.
