Help me find Cachita!

This spring Ave Maria Press will release my third book, Our Lady of Charity: How A Cuban Devotion to Mary Helped Me Grow in Faith and Love.

I’m so excited to share this beautiful devotion with my readers, and encourage you to look around in your own parishes and communities for signs that Cachita, as Our Lady of Charity is sometimes called affectionately, is present.

Help me celebrate! Send me your pictures, tagged by location, and I’ll include it in my gallery, Cachita Photo Gallery.

Happy New Year!

I’m back after a personal hiatus to wish you all a happy new year (and merry Christmas!).

The end of 2018 came with a bang — the birth of our first grandson! What an absolute miracle to hold this beautiful baby boy! I look forward to so many exciting things in 2019!

I hope to write a little more, but I can say for sure that I am looking forward to the release of my new book in the spring, and maybe, who knows, a bunch of new adventures. The new year comes with so much hope. Let’s make it a good one!

foggy ponderings

I woke up to a foggy morning, typical for this time of year as the comfortable fall becomes a little cooler. The view from my porch on a foggy day is always a pretty sight. Some people might say it’s eerie, but I think it’s lovely and mysterious.

The sun’s warmth will eventually burn off the fog even though I don’t see the sun at the moment. In fact, I can’t see beyond the end of our pier, but I know there’s a bank on the other side of the bay that I can usually see, and I know the sun is up because the morning is getting lighter and brighter by the minute. I don’t need to see the sun to know it’s there and constant.

Some truths are immutable.
