Mine. Is there a place, object, or view that’s entirely yours, or you’re a bit selfish or possessive about? Is it a feeling you feel when you look at the photo, or perhaps an unwillingness to share?
I’m certainly not selfish about it, but one of my favorite places to go alone is the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers. Not because I don’t want to share my time with anyone else, but because I enjoy the silence there and the sense of timelessness.
We could use this kind of applause, no?
I try to write the books I would love to come upon, that are honest, concerned with real lives, human hearts, spiritual transformation, families, secrets, wonder, craziness—and that can make me laugh. When I am reading a book like this, I feel rich and profoundly relieved to be in the presence of someone who will share the truth with me, and throw the lights on a little, and I try to write these kinds of books. Books, for me, are medicine.
