September 12 of 12

Wow, so I’m not digging what a pain it was to put this together this month. I have got to figure out how to use this blog more efficiently. Anyway, enjoy, comment, mock, whatever. And go see what everyone’s else’s day looked like at Chad Darnell’s 12 of 12 site!

  1. I don’t know about WordPress, but after losing a few 12 of 12 posts and swearing muchly trying to Blog photos using Blogger’s own uploading tool, I finally found a perfect way.

Use Firefox, and put your photos in Photobucket. WAY, way easier.

    1) Upload photos to Phptpbucket
    2) Open Firefox and then Blogger
    3) Type out the post as you go – intro, 1) 9am, Kitchen, etc. Add a space line.
    4) Copy the code in Photobucket for your first photo, which begins [a href=] (except with the pointy brackets). It’s the third line of code under the photo, anyway
    5) Paste code into Blog post, space line, type your description, add space line.
    6) Repeat for each photo.
    7) Highlight each photo code and click the “centre” alignment if you wish
    8) Resize the photo if you wish. The number you put in depends on the width of your main column. You can adjust the width of your main and side columns with Blogger (not sure about WordPress) – go to Layout I think it is, and then “edit html”. Just make sure to copy and paste your Blog template into Word and save it before you start (you can preview any changes, but better safe than sorry!). The code you need to add is:
width=”590″ (or whatever the number is)
and it goes just inside the big long first bracket, like this:

    [a href=”http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc18/beachcomberhs/?action=view&current=HPIM0964wm.jpg” target=”_blank”][img src=”http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc18/beachcomberhs/HPIM0964wm.jpg” border=”0″ alt=”Photobucket” width=”590″][/a]

    (again with the pointy brackets)

Just keep playing with the width number you insert, until it’s as wide as it can be without pushing your sidepanels to the bottom of the page.

I really need to save this tutorial, I’ve posted it a few times for people, but always end up typing it out! Anyhoo – hope it helps, once you work out how to do it in WordPress!
